Sheriff’s report on kidnapping suspect inaccurate

By Allison Baldwin

The kidnapping suspect University Police apprehended May 3 will face charges in Long Beach today.

According to the Long Beach Police Department and University Police, Winston Wynne Cummings Jr. was in fact booked and released from Long Beach City Jail on $100,000 bail. He is facing a felony charge of attempted false imprisonment.

Cummings will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today at the Long Beach Superior Court. According to Greg Pascal, communications and records supervisor for the UP, the information on Cummings’ pending case that is available through Los Angeles County is incorrect. Cummings was never booked through the county, so they do not have complete information on his case.
