Leader
dedicated to Cal State students
One
of the easiest things to do is tear another
person down. It is easy to take a set of
preconceived notions about a person and
berate them without bothering to understand
their true nature.
In
the past few weeks, a select number of vocal
persons have shown their determination to
tarnish the reputation of Associated Students
Inc. presidential candidate Uduak-Joe Ntuk.
With the upcoming elections, these people
feel it is open season to attempt to assassinate
the character of this prominent Cal State
Long Beach student.

I
have known Ntuk for years and have had the
opportunity to plan campus events with him
on numerous occasions. His dedication to
helping other students is beyond impressive.
I am continually amazed at how he is able
to balance his work schedule, his academic
demands in the engineering curriculum and
his participation in several organizations
while still working tirelessly to improve
our experiences on campus and in the greater
community.
It
is disappointing that certain individuals
have resorted to skewing the facts in order
to advance their own combative agenda. They
may say what they will, but those of us
who actually know Uduak realize that he
is an extraordinary leader and is one of
the most admirable students at CSULB. Now
is not the time for antagonistic behavior;
we need to focus on bringing the campus
together rather than tearing it apart.
