  • False alarm delays traffic
    What was described as a suspicious package on an Orange County Transit bus led to at least one car accident and delayed traffic for two hours yesterday on Seventh Street from Channel until almost Studebaker.
  • Senate hears debate on fee committee
    The Associated Students Senate meeting Wednesday afternoon took up lengthy and pointed debate over the appointment of students to the Student Fee Advisory Committee.
  • Cal State schools open admission doors to Gulf Coast students
    In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, displaced victims desire to resume to a normal life but are unable to due to the destruction. In particular, Gulf Coast Universities are turning to California State Universities, including Cal State Long Beach, to help students from the affected region continue their schooling.
  • Transit service reductions canceled
    Service reductions for Long Beach Transit have been canceled after an agreement between the Transit Company and the Amalgamated Transit Union was reached.
  • ASI volunteer recruitment night brings scholarships, activities
    Scholarships, ultimate Frisbee and experience for future jobs were some of the things available at the Associated Students, Inc., volunteer recruitment night, Tuesday.
  • Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Information
    The nursing and engineering departments in conjunction with the American Red Cross are currently collaborating to spearhead a disaster relief effort for hurricane victims. Today through Sept. 16 there will be donation stations at the University Bookstore, at the Learning Center inside the nursing building, and at the Outpost. Associated Students, Inc., in collaboration with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, will have a donation container available at ASI Recruitment Night, Week of Welcome and in the ASI Office (USU-311).

  • Fans enjoy touring 'addiction' of Spill Canvas in Pomona
    Coming out of Sioux Falls, S.D., from the mind of a young songwriter and guitarist by the name of Nick Thomas, the Spill Canvas (TSC) emerged on the scene in 2003 with the release of “Sunsets & Car Crashes” through the indie label One-Eleven Records.
