Right
wingers need to look in the mirror Re “Fighting
for the right to kill babies,” and
“Public drowning in swallow waters
of smear tactics,” Opinion, May 4:
Good job guys! Presenting a double dose
of right-wing idiocy on the same day should
make us aware of just how shallow they really
are.
Garthoffner
cannot resist and hits where it hurts: “
if only [pro-choicers] got half as excited
about fighting and killing terrorists.”
Ouch! I wonder what he thinks about the
anti-abortion terrorists? You know, those
who threaten the lives of the patients and
staff of abortion clinics? Should we not
fight and give them a dose of Guantanamo,
too? Let us not speak of the countless millions
who are for fighting terrorists, including
Hillary Clinton. Garthoffner still is probably
under the impression that the war in Iraq
is part of the war on terrorism —
so sad.
And
to Gerry I can only say: If you want to
talk about issues, bring it on. But if you
are defending the president against smear,
do the same for Kerry. Bush checked a box
saying he doesn’t want to serve overseas,
Kerry volunteered. Bush stops going for
a year, Kerry gets well deserved medals,
which Republicans now question. But that’s
all in the past, so why care? The kicker
is Bush’s promise to release his entire
file. What has been released is very little.
And apparently nothing about why he was
grounded. Bush also wrote in his memoir
that he kept flying ... right. The reason
for the very thin file is most likely that
it was severely scrubbed. There are those
who say they witnessed it.
Bush
ran on wanting to bring honor and integrity
back to the White House. I wonder if that
includes threatening an actuary with dismissal
if he revealed his $535 billion estimate
of the Medicare Drugs Benefit, vs. Republican
estimates of $400B? And that’s just
one example.
Gerry,
name your issue. You will lose, I promise.
