Golden alum marshalls Christmas Parade

Parade • Rain didn't wash out this years 22nd annual Belmont Shore Christmas parade as former Long Beach State women's volleyball star and Olympic gold medalist Misty May waved to fans from her float as the grand marshal in the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade on Saturday night. The theme of the parade was "Hometown Heroes," and included military servicemen from Iraq, police officers and children from the Community Hospital of Long Beach. May was driven around in a classic convertible and flashed her gold medal to the estimated 50,000 attendees. Tracey Roman/Online Forty-Niner
