Cal State Long Beach tuition and fees are split between several programs. Some fees go to the cheer team which held tryout last spring. Tracey Roman/Online Forty-Niner

News

  • Professors receive recognition
For most students on campus, writing is either a hopeful profession or a dreadful task. But for Cal State Long Beach English professors Lisa Glatt and Suzanne Greenberg, it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Opinion

  • Getting out of dorm life worth the anguish
After two years of living in the confined quarters of a 14 by 15 foot room, eating, but not always digesting the bland, dried-out, flavorless food of the cafeteria, I said enough.
Diversions
  • I wanna talk about Toby
The crowd roared for the last two weekends as the Big Throwdown Tour rocked the West Coast. Toby Keith was in town and the fans could not be more fired up.
Sports
  • This week's Nugget in the Rough: Tara Gotthardt
Goalie Tara Gotthardt saved a career-best nine shots on Sunday to help lead the Cal State Long Beach women's soccer team to a 0-0 tie against the University of San Francisco, which is why Gotthardt earns the honor of being our first Nugget in the Rough this year.
