• ASU sponsors consciousness conference
  Awareness and education was the focus of the 25th annual Black Consciousness Conference, sponsored by the African Student Union last week.

• Multicultural Center helps students send messages in form of a flag
  Since Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the Multicultural Center has been sponsoring another Peace Project where students can write a message of peace and support on colorful cutout hands, which will become part of a large display dedicated to U.S. soldiers in conflicts abroad.

• CSULB class raises money for B.L.A.S.T. through wine tasting
  In a tiny classroom, students were packed wall-to-wall talking loudly and working. The lack of sleepy faces illustrated what would typically be a mundane class lecture in a crowded room.

  Many Americans were excited upon hearing that John Ashcroft resigned from his post as Attorney General of the United States. Unfortunately President George W. Bush wasted no time in appointing his buddy Alberto Gonzales to the post.

• Nuclear reactor only solution to energy crisis
  The great world powers are on the verge of a major agreement to develop a nuclear fusion reactor in France. Many are hopeful that the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) will be a panacea for the dire energy crunch that we are facing.

• Kerry, Democrats and liberalism lost in 2004
  The days following the 2004 presidential election will leave many Democrats asking the question, "What went wrong?" Many theories are already floating around the media.

• Graduate students explore abortion in ‘Cider House Rules'
  "The Cider House Rules," the California Repertory Company's first play of the 2004-05 season, is being performed at the Edison Theater in Long Beach until Dec. 11.

• 49ers drown Seawolves in final exhibition game
  Long Beach State turned up the heat in their second exhibition game this season as Transfer forward Shawn Hawkins and senior center Anthony Coleman led the 49ers to a 91-63 victory over the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves Thursday night in The Pyramid.

• 49ers Ice Hockey Team has no answers for SJSU in loss
  The 49ers Ice Hockey Team showed a lack of discipline and desire Thursday night as they faced San Jose State for the second time this season.
