Women's tennis

Head Coach Jenny Hilt-Costello announced the signing of Australian Stephanie Bengson to a Financial Aid Agreement to attend Long Beach State in Jan. 2005. Bengson is currently ranked No. 18 in the Australian National 18 years and under rankings. She will graduate from St. Joseph's Catholic high school in November.

"We are very excited that Stephanie and her family have agreed to quickly begin her college experience this January," Hilt-Costello said. "This is a great opportunity for her to benefit from joining an already competitive roster and we anticipate she will make an immediate impact on our lineup."

Dirtbag baseball

The Dirtbags will hit the radio waves in the 2005 season. Veteran radio announcer Rob Buska will provide the play-by-play for the broadcast on KWRM-1370 AM.

Buska spent the previous four seasons at Cal State Fullerton doing play-by-play for the basketball and baseball teams. He also has four years of experience broadcasting minor league baseball.

There are also plans for a weekly coaches show on KWRM, featuring Dirtbag Head Coach Mike Weathers.
