The
Pilipino American Coalition (P.A.C.) and
Kappa Psi Epsilon Sorority of CSULB have
completed yet another successful year
of their annual Christmas festival. Last
Saturday, the 8th Annual Filipino Christmas
Fest took place at the north lawn of the
HHS-1 building on campus.
Although
there was some rain in the morning, the
students did not let the rain prevent
the day from being filled with singing,
caroling, dancing and Filipino food. There
were also almost 20 vendors exhibiting
Filipino arts, Filipino-American clothing
lines and also non-profit organizations
encouraging involvement in the community.
Myron
Marten the host and member of the first
Filipino-American collegiate fraternity
Theta Delta Beta said, "the Christmas
fest is a fun event to host because it
promotes culture, unity and school spirit
for CSULB. The event promotes Filipino
traditions but is open to all other cultures
to come and celebrate Christmas."
Highlights
of the day included a hip-hop dance performance
by the P.A.C modern team, Filipino artwork
by Michelle Bautista and Christmas caroling
provided by the ladies of Kappa Psi Epsilon.
