Crimes
are evolving with the advancement of technology.
With the development of digital phone
cameras, many run the risk of being exposed
or the victim of identity theft. With
one click of a phone camera, thieves can
take a snap shot of your credit card and
make major purchases in your name, and
then let you handle all the responsibility
of the bill.
For
girls, there are many perverts who like
to use their phones to take pictures,
and exchange it with other perverts on-line.
Beware of those who stand close to you
with a phone in their hand, you could
be the next victim of identity theft or
voyeurism.
Car
owners beware: there has been an increase
of auto burglary in the parking areas.
To prevent such mishaps CSULB Police Captain
Skipworth suggests keeping all your valuables
away from plain sight. Don't bring expensive
things to school and if you must, keep
them with you at all times.
Students
often leave expensive radio systems, purses,
CDs, MP3 players and other valuable items
in their cars, which is an open invitation
for thieves. Remember to keep your doors
locked and windows rolled up. While police
officers patrol the school parking areas
they cannot cover all the areas at the
same time. The best way to stop crime
is prevention.
