Ditch that monkey wrench and make room for Alan's Wrench

Alan's Wrench is one of the most successful and talented independent rock bands in recent years. Not a cover band, but finally an original rock band based not so much on where music is today but where it's going to be tomorrow. If you mixed Creed, Metallica, Godsmack, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots in a blender you'd have Alan's Wrench.

Formed in 1997 by front man Dave Simoncic, Alan's Wrench has consistently brought new insight to modern rock n' roll. “Rock's got a million faces, you just gotta find which one you're gonna wear,” Simoncic said, a Texan who came to California in search of his true dream — being in a rock band.

Alan's Wrench, a rock band in a predominantly “punk” area like Orange County, has excelled in creating a broad and diverse fan base. So who is Alan? Nobody. Dave named the band after a song by one of his band influences, Kyuss.

With their sophomore CD release in late 2002, “Room With A View,” and their newest CD (soon to be released), Alan's Wrench has been winning over fans of all genres, bringing them back to shows over and over with their emotional form of rock n' roll. With the addition in the past year of guitarist Jeff Spaulding, bassist Tim King, and original drummer Marty Wilcox, Alan's Wrench is set to take their music to the next level.

According to Spaulding, “We are all just having fun,” a statement which may seem cliché since one would think all rock bands are “just having fun.” Spaulding continues, “We are ready to give up the lingering nine-to-five jobs. I was put on this earth to play Rock and Roll.”

Showcasing and securing opening slots at such prestigious stages as The House of Blues (Hollywood and Anaheim), The Galaxy Theatre and The Coach House (Orange County), and The

Roxy Theatre (Hollywood), Alan's Wrench's next show will be held on September 29th at the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood. Alan's Wrench is proving to both promoters and club owners alike that it really is “the next big thing.” Nabbing opening positions with such bands as Living Colour, The Tubes, Brother, Great White, and Thin Lizzy, is proof of the diverse crossover fan-base that Alan's Wrench attracts.
