Newport News customizes fit, stylish bikini wear

By Janelle L. Burns

With the sun creating warmer days, you may find yourself eyeing new bathing suits and itty-bitty bikinis. The perfect suit is hard to come by and finding it is more time consuming than finding fabulous fitting jeans — so get started now!

I am not going to suggest buying a certain color or style for the sake of fashion. Swimwear is definitely one item you should pick based on your individuality. Let us face it, not everyone can wear a boy cut bottom and look smashing, not everyone looks good in hot pink, and so on.

Above all, make sure the suit fits properly. If you get a suit that squeezes your skin, even a little bit, you will create the look of flab and appear chunky. If you have to, get a bigger size so the elastic does not tightly squeeze your skin.

The only recommendation I will make to anyone for a dependable bathing suit source is a mail order company called Newport News. Why, you might ask? Department stores and specialty stores are usually ‘hit and miss’ places. Have you ever noticed that when you go bathing suit shopping you are out for the whole day because you end up visiting every store you can think of? All retail stores have a buyer who decides what will be available for consumers, and a lot of times it may not be what you are looking for.

Visit Newport-News.com and check them out. The site has a fun way to buy bikinis called, “Build Your Own Bikini.” You can order different sizes, styles and colors for tops and bottoms for 10 bucks apiece! You will save time because you can customize cuts and colors in the size you need.

If you still would rather go down to your favorite stores to seek out your suit, ask about their return policy. If the policy is descent, then buy the suits you like, try them on at home, and return the ones that did not work out. Try them on in your room and let some natural light in because it is the only way to see what you really look like in the suit.

Trying on the most critical garment under very unflattering fluorescent lighting that maximizes every flaw makes no sense!
