Letters to the editor: Anti-offensive

Are you kidding? Why shouldn't African-American students be offended by the flyer. Perhaps the similar flyers with white men were printed to have something to fall back on so that it would look like no harm was intended. Maybe the reason no one is offended by the flyer with the white male is because (to my knowledge) there is nowhere in the "white man's history" where white men were stripped of their dignity by being placed on auctioning blocks wearing nothing at all to be sold as servants. This is what that flyer reminds people of. Before printing flyers, I think it is important to consider what may be offensive to other people. Of course you will not always hit the nail on the head, but some things are obvious, and I think this is one of them.
