Our View: The game is over

After all of the hubbub and the noise, the dirty pasts and the dirtier futures, the recall election has been postponed. Whether viewed as a boon or as a bane, the 9th Circuit Court has made its decision.

The fact that the ballot measure has been put off doesn't bother me so much, the court is known for its rulings. And if sometimes out of step with the rest of the nation the court seems to cater to the California left coast, left wing.

But not just the Republicans are angry with this. People in all walks of life can smell some kinky business in either the courthouse or up in Sacramento.

Why are the Hanging Chad's an issue only now, after last years governors election proceeded without issue about 45 percent of the voting public possibly getting gypped out of their vote. Now all of a sudden, because voter turn out may be better, because of the high amount of publicity for the recall election, because Gov. Gray Davis needs more time, it has become an issue.

Although campaigning may wind down as only the super wealthy or the ultra funded can do constant campaigning from now until March, it is important that people remember the issues by the time March gets here and not just vote for the name they saw last in the headlines. This is a surefire way for both swinging voters and people with an agenda other than just the recall election to get their way, rather than the people getting what's best for them.
