Some Summer Day, an art exhibit presented by Euan Macdonald, will be on display through Oct. 12 at the University Art Museum. The exhibit consists of drawings, paintings and video projections depicting the passage of time. The display For more information, call (562) 985-5761.

The L.A.-based artist measures the passage of time with a minimum of action in his DVD projections; plus, drawings and a print with the lyrics of John Lennon's "Instant Karma"; Aug. 26-Oct. 12. Tom Wesselmann: The Intimate Images Career survey of small-scale drawings and collages, including a collection of nudes; Aug. 26-Oct. 12.

Saturday, Sept. 6
The Saudi Students Club will hold Muslims in America: Reality and Challenges, a free event on Sept. 6. The event will have workshops, conferences and exhibits dealing with family values, civil rights, education and social skills. For more information, call Hamad Al-Badr at (562) 883-4044.

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is hosting "Porous Framework Materials from Oxide to Chalcogenide," a seminar conducted by Pirgyun Ferg from the University of Riverside on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. in SLH-48.
