CRIME LOG

Capt. Stan Skipworth

Capt. Skipworth says: "We continue to encourage people to contact us about anything they may find suspicious so that we respond and identify the situation. We do appreciate those people who take the time to call."
 

Wednesday, Oct. 15

Disturbance- The sound of construction noise was reported. Upon checking the site, nothing was found to be out of the ordinary.
 

Thursday, Oct. 16

Disturbance- A group of people were disturbing the peace by raising their voices and not taking the other residence into consideration.

Disturbance- A transient was found sleeping inside of a classroom. The transient was confronted by University Police and was asked to leave.
 

Friday, Oct. 17

Suspicious Vehicle- Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Whaley Park. According to Capt. Skipworth, "The couple was found coupling."  The officer that arrived to the scene counseled the couple on their disturbance.
 

Saturday, Oct. 18

Fire- A fire alarm was set off at approximately 1 a.m. outside of Parkside Commons. The location was checked out and found to be free of fire.

Incomplete 9-1-1- A call was made to University Police from the south side of the Vivian Engineering Center. Officers responded within one-and-a-half minutes and did not find anything that would warrant a 9-1-1 phone call.

 

Sunday, Oct. 19

Warrant Arrest- University Police was informed of an Orange County Transit bus passenger who was asked to get off the bus after disturbing other passengers with his "odd behavior." Officers searched the site at which he was let off and found the passenger. It turned out that he had more than $35,000 in warrants for non-violent charges. The "odd behavior" was not in any way identified.
