Wednesday,
September 17
Disturbance-
A staff member set down his tools to load
a ladder. Upon returning to the site where
he had placed his tools, he found they were
missing. Later that day, the staff member
found his tools in his office where a co-worker
had placed them. The co-worker had seen
the tools on the floor where the staff member
had left them and picked them up so that
no one would steal them.
Fire-
A male student was jump-starting his vehicle
with a pair of jumper cables. There was
a bad connection which caused the cables
to catch on fire. The fire department responded
and put the fire out.
Unknown
trouble- A student was on a cell phone with
her mother at about 9 p.m. The cell phone
dropped the call and the mother of the student
assumed that something had happened to her
daughter and dialed campus police. There
was no trouble, only bad reception.
Thursday,
September 18
Grand
theft auto- A 1987 Ford Sedan was reported
stolen after having been missing for a week.
The male owner assumed that the car had
been towed away by University Police. University
Police did not have any record of his vehicle
being towed away.
Trespass-
Solicitors from the Hacienda Del Mar Resort
were in the University Student Union area
selling condo packages to students without
the proper permission from Student Life
and Development.

September 19
Grand
theft auto- A purple 1994 Honda Civic was
reported stolen at 4:34 p.m. and was last
seen at 8:45 a.m. in Lot 11.
Saturday,
September 20
Assault/battery-
An apple was launched into a student's dorm
window in Los Cerritos Hall. The apple almost
hit the student. There weren't any suspects
at the scene although witness did hear the
sound of the apple thrown by the launcher.
Sunday,
September 21
Marijuana
complaint- The smell of marijuana was reported
to police around midnight. When police arrived
at the scene, what was believed to be the
scent of marijuana was actually burning
incense.
Monday,
September 22
Vandalism-
Damage to the fountain outside of Brotman
hall was discovered Sunday. There was a
break in the concrete and the pumps had
been pulled out. The fountain was last seen
in working condition Friday. The damage
is estimated at $3,000.
