guitarist Joe Louis Walker bends a note
Sunday at the 24th Annual Long Beach Blues
Festival at Cal State Long Beach. The two-day
event featured artists including Joe Cocker,
Al Green, the Neville Brothers, Charlie
Musselwhite and Billy Preston. It is the
largest single fundraiser of the year for
listener-supported KKJZ 88.1 FM, which broadcasts
from the CSULB campus.

Queen of New Orleans Irma Thomas brought
her regal voice to the 25th Annual Long
Beach Blues Festival Sunday at Cal State
Long Beach. Held every year to benefit KKJZ
88.1 FM, the event attracted thousands of
blues lovers to the campus over Labor Day
weekend.
