Tyler Mays finished
tied for eighth and Long Beach State placed 13th at the U.S.
Intercollegiate men's golf tournament hosted by Stanford University.
Mays shot a one-under 70 in his opening round Saturday, and
closed with consecutive rounds of 72 to finish at one-over
214. The next Beach finisher was Torey Edwards, who placed
in a tie for 45th at 72-80-71 -- 223.
USC won the team title, and Philip Rowe of Stanford (64-72-69--205)
won medal honors.
Both the LBSU men's and women's golf team are currently playing
at the Big West Championships at Serrano Golf Course in Sacramento.
Results of the tournament will be published in the On-line
Forty-Niner Thursday.
