Beucler
wins, saves, honored

Senior right-hander
Nate Beucler started last week without a win or save for the
Long Beach State this season. He now has both, plus some hardware
to show for his efforts.
Beucler was named
Big West Conference's co-Pitcher of the Week after registering
both a win and save in two Dirtbag victories last week. UC
Riverside's A.J. Shappi shared the award with Beucler.
Beucler started
against Loyola Marymount last Tuesday, pitching seven innings,
giving up one earned run and striking out seven to earn the
win in the Dirtbags' 5-3 victory. Beucler is now 1-1 on the
season.
Beucler then tossed
four scoreless innings of relief Sunday in a 4-2 win over
UC Santa Barbara to pick up his first save of the season.
LBSU opens a three
game series this Friday against Miami. The Dirtbags are ranked
No. 13 in the country, while the Hurricanes are struggling
this season with an 18-18 record.
