USC
wins Long Beach Invite; 49ers fourth

Roberta Stewart
scored five goals and Angelica Garcia added three, but it
wasn't enough as Long Beach State lost to the UC San Diego,
10-9, Sunday in overtime of the third-place game at the Long
Beach Invitational.
USC won the Invite,
played at the Campus Pool, by defeating San Diego State, 15-5.
The Trojans advanced to the championship game by defeating
UCSD, 18-4, in the semifinals. SDSU advanced by beating
LBSU, 9-6.
Stewart led The
Beach in the semifinals with three goals. Bri Hawkins was
in net for the 49ers in both games, making nine saves in the
semifinals and seven in the third-place game.
LBSU closes out
regular-season play this when it plays at UC Irvine Thursday
at 4 p.m. and at Cal State Northridge Sunday at noon.
