The Long Beach
State men's golf team struggled in the final round of the
Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz Tuesday, but still finished
in 11th place and placed four golfers in the top 40.
Torey Edwards was the top LBSU finisher at 74-74-72 -- 220,
good enough for a 30th-place tie. Tyler Mays (72-72-77), Chris
Gilley (74-73-74) and James Logeman (72-73-76) all finished
in a tie for 37th place at 221.
Robert Sul (76-77-78 -- 231) finished in a tie for 71st for
The Beach.
Washington won the team title by 20 strokes over second-place
Fresno State (834-854), and the Huskies' Conner Robbins medaled
with an eight-under 202.
The 49ers next play at the U.S. Intercollegiate at Stanford
beginning April 20.
