Welcome to the new
version of the Cal State Long Beach On-line Forty-Niner opinion
page. My name is Greg Smith and I will be your guide this semester
through the issues that concern all students and faculty at
CSULB.
I would like to welcome to the page three new columnists. News
editor Alex Roman's column will run every Tuesday. Entertainment
editor Christine Shin's column will run every Wednesday and
former Editor-in-Chief Phil Witte will take over Thursday's
column. The insightful commentary of this semester's columnists
promises to be hard-hitting, well informed and even a bit irreverent.
Monday's edition will feature a different guest columnist each
week, from CSULB President Robert Maxson to the finest student
columnists from around the nation.
The staff of the On-line Forty-Niner hopes that all students
will learn something from this page and urges students to e-mail
their thoughts, whether they are praise or hatred.
The On-line Forty-Niner opinion page is more than just a forum
for journalists. It is a forum for the entire student body to
discuss the issues that are important to them. We would like
to urge all students to e-mail the On-line Forty-Niner at d49er@csulb.edu
and let their voices be heard.
