opinion:
our view
Only
one week left kiddies
Finals week is finally here. Maybe it is a little too soon
for most of us, but the semester is finally done.
For some of us, our college career is complete and now we
are off to find meaningful work.
Some of us will be back in the fall to continue bringing students
news that is important to Cal State Long Beach.
We could discuss more issues or political snafus in this next
to last issue but we have both enlightened and pissed off
enough people this semester.
We would instead like to use this space to wish all students
the best of luck, whether they are graduating or not. Most
of us are of a generation that is going to be changing the
world in the near future.
We hope that everyone at CSULB is using the tools and lessons
they have learned here to ensure that we all change this world
for the better.
Tumultuous times are ahead and everything from the war on
terrorism to the state of the job market is only going to
get worse before it gets better. We are confident that the
students at CSULB are the right type of people to take on
any future adversity head on.
As much as this newspaper may be loathed by some members of
the campus community, we are confident that as student reporters
we did the best we could to bring students and faculty alike
the news that matters most to CSULB.
To keep a long story short, so long and farewell to all you
graduating seniors. We hope that only the best will come your
way in the future.
To returning students we offer you the advice to continue
working hard. There is a light at the end of the tunnel that
is your college career. And it may just be sweeter at the
end.
This is the editorial staff of the Spring 2002 On-line Forty-Niner,
signing off.
