Graduation, then time for vacation

By Joe Licavoli
On-line Forty-Niner

After all the hard work of dealing with papers, tests and showing up to class every once in a while, the graduating class of 2002 at Cal State Long Beach definitely needs a vacation: here are a few fun and unique trip ideas.

Just down south, graduates can experience fun in the sun in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Surfers can hang ten while graduates wanting to relax can lie on the beach and take their mind off all the pressures they had from school. At night the clubs of Cabo provide graduates a different kind of release through plenty of drinking and dancing.

Other students would rather go a little bit further away.

"When and if I graduate I would like to go visit the Greek Islands," said Kimberly Weir, a senior communications major who is not quite ready to graduate. "I want to roam around the soft sandy beaches barefoot, watching the clear blue water and having mai-tai's served to me buy a hunky Greek god who is at my beck and call."

Rick Rose, a senior communications major is graduating this year and is planning a trip to Jamaica.

"It's a resort and its all inclusive with food, drinks,  water skiing, sailing, the flight, everything was included," Rose said. "Its going to be like that Corona commercial, I am just going to sit back and stare at the ocean."

Graduates who want to experience different cultures in the same trip can take a vacation to Europe.

England with its historic landmarks, interesting atmosphere and great beer makes for an excellent stop on a tour of Europe.

Even though there may be a few problems with the language barrier, Italy is a great place to see. Italy is a country filled with great people, tons of history and fabulous food making it a great stop in any European adventure.

There are many places to go after graduating but the most important things is for the graduate to do what they want to do, whether its basking in the sun or exploring another culture.
