CSULB Alumni host many events

By Michelle Siazon
On-line Forty-Niner

The Alumni Association will host two areas of events for Kaleidoscope. The first is going to be at the Alumni Pavilion in The Nugget patio, featuring historical photos, yearbooks and a band called "The Blast."

The second area of events is the Alumni Chapters Zone, along the north side of the quad. Alumni chapters including the nursing, sociology, student, American-Indian, social work, African-American, and Latino alumni chapters each will have a booth set up.

The nursing Alumni Chapter booth will sell sodas, with proceeds benefiting the nursing Alumni Chapter.

"Everyone wins" will be the key phrase featured at the Sociology Alumni Chapter booth with the children's game "Fish 'Til You Win."

The Student Alumni Association will also host a children's game booth, with "Pitch 'Til You Win," where everyone wins a prize.

Food items including fry bread, giant fry dogs and Indian tacos are a sample of food that will be available for purchase to benefit the American Indian Student Scholarship Fund and hosted by the American Indian Alumni and Friends.

The Social Work Alumni Chapter will be exploring the magic of the human touch by giving massages.

Snow cones large and small will be for sale at the African American Alumni booth and proceeds will benefit the chapter.

Crafts for the kids sponsored by the Latino Alumni Chapter. All under one booth, make butterflies, cascarones, plants and teddy bears while benefiting the Latino Alumni Chapter.

"We'll have something for everyone," said assistant alumni director Lisa Sragovicz. "Come and join the association or sign up for the CSULB Alumni Association MasterCard."

Many volunteer opportunities are available in the Chapters Zone. If interested in more information, please contact Lisa Sragovicz at (562)985-7378.
