After
another successful season so far, the No.
10-ranked Long Beach State women’s volleyball
team will wrap up conference play this weekend
at The Pyramid.
The 49ers are 24-3 overall, 13-3 in the
Big West Conference and will take on the
Utah State Aggies on Friday and the Idaho
Vandals on Saturday.
LBSU defeated Utah State in three games
back on Sept. 21 and holds a 23-4 series
advantage over the Aggies that dates back
to the 1978 season.
Utah is 14-14 overall and 7-9 in the Big
West.
Erin Cartwright paced the Aggies against
all three teams, posting double-digit kills
in each match while freshman Zuzana Cernianska
added 30 kills total. Freshman Ingrid Roth
also helped out, adding 25 kills total and
eight blocks. Other top Aggies include junior
Tereza Cernianska, who hit .579 against
CSUN, and Andrea Delsigne, who had a career-high
62 assists against Weber State.
The last time the 49ers faced Idaho back
in September as well, The Beach beat the
Vandals in three games and currently holds
a 10-0 series advantage dating back to 1984.
LBSU has swept Idaho eight straight matches
and hopes to continue its winning streak.
