The purpose of the event was to bring people
together and provide a feeling of comfort,
she said.
The
Unity Monument, located at Temple Avenue
and Hill Street in Signal Hill, was unveiled
this week as a tribute to the victims of
Sept. 11. Cal State Long Beach graduate
Patrick Vogel created the piece using five
different kinds of metal to signify the
diversity of the American people.
