Campus
fair helps students find jobs
Staff reports
The
annual Fall Job Fair, sponsored by the Career
Development Center, will take place in the
University Student Union at Cal State Long
Beach Thursday.
Government
agencies and more than 150 corporations
will be represented to interview and hire
students and alumni. Representatives from
accounting, marketing, sales, entertainment,
engineering, information systems, health
care and many other career fields will be
available to answer questions.
The
main purpose of the Job Fair is to offer
the students a time to meet with different
companies in the same area at the same time.
“The
Job Fair provides opportunities to connect
with employers for full-time jobs, internships
and career explorations,” said Robin Lee,
coordinator of cooperative education for
the Career Development Center.
Students
should be ready and prepared to be hired
by one of the visiting corporations at the
Job Fair. The representatives will be interested
in students from all majors and fields for
positions of employment with their companies.
“All
companies attending the fair are ready to
hire,” Lee said. “Students attending should
be ready for hire by bringing their resumes,
dressing professionally and researching
companies before they visit with them at
the fair.”
Representatives
from ABC Television, Boeing, city of Los
Angeles, Deloitte and Touche, Enterprise,
Target, The Pepsi Bottling Group, TRW and
others will be participating, Lee said.
