The
Center for Health Care Innovation at Cal
State Long Beach will present an Interdisciplinary
Career Day Wednesday from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
Patricia Fabian, director of Special Projects
at CHCI, said that the career day matches
students and the community.
“Fifteen long term care organizations will
be present,” Fabian said. “This is our first
Interdisciplinary Career Day. It is open
to all students, and we hope to get at least
about 100 students.”
The event, which will be held at the CSULB
North Campus Center, will have the participation
of several local organizations that will
be on hand to inform the many career opportunities
and internships available to students.
The purpose of the career day is to inform
students of the career opportunities and
internship possibilities available in the
field of long-term care, aging and disability.
Cypress Senior Center, SCAN Social Services
and the Long Beach Department of Health
and Human Services are some of the local
organizations that will be present, Fabian
said.
Theresa Marino, manager of the Bureau of
Public Health and a nursing service officer,
will be the representative for the Long
Beach Department of Human Services.
“I think this is a great opportunity for
student to get involved in the public and
private sector,” Marino said.
Refreshments will be served at the event,
and drawing for door prizes will be held
at 6 p.m. to encourage students to attend.
The Career Development Center at CSULB is
planning in the near feature other events
