State Long Beach will be holding “A Day
of Remembrance” at the Japanese Gardens
in honor of the thousands of victims who
tragically lost their lives on Sept. 11,
2001.
President Robert C. Maxson and Academic
Senate Chairman Wayne Dick will briefly
address the audience.
“It will be a very brief and respectable
program that will allow people to remember
the events and tragedies of Sept. 11,” said
Armando Contreras, executive assistant to
the president’s office. There will
also be a musical selection of songs that
will be performed by the University’s Symphony
Orchestra and Choir.
The program will start at noon and last
until 1 p.m. There will be shuttles
available at State University Drive near
Brotman Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m.
