Makeup products support breast cancer awareness

Janelle L. Burns - Fashionably Tuesday

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, as everyone, hopefully, knows. In honor of helping to find a cure and generating awareness, many makeup companies are donating proceeds of specific products to help the cause.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the products are very appealing and most of the shades would look good on anyone. That said, go stock your beauty bag and your Christmas present stash fast- because October is almost over!

Clinique is offering the “In the Pink” limited edition set. This set includes a Moisture Surge Lipstick SPF 15 in “Pink Whimsey,” a miniature “Tutu Pink” nail enamel and a Clinique pouch. This can be purchased for $8.50 by visiting a Clinique counter or logging onto Clinique.com.

Avon has a wonderful promotion, not only are all of the proceeds being donated, but it slashed the price of its  No. 1 selling lipstick and are offering six different colors ranging from light pink to spice. “Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer” lipcolor is a gel formula lipstick that hydrates and shines. This lipstick can be purchased for only $4 at Avon.com. When purchasing this lipcolor, the company will also include a free Breast Health Resource Guide.

Stila has created a pink lip glaze called “BCA Pink.” This glaze is encased in a long tube and has a paint-on applicator. For $24 dollars you can tingle in this very sheer mint scented glaze. Visit any Stila counter or Sephora boutique to purchase “BCA Pink” and help the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Estee Lauder is benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation as well, with its “Pink Ribbon Collection.” This collection features six items: two different styles of pink ribbon pins, a gold pink ribbon compact, a lipstick traveler set with a pink mini-tote, a lip-gloss compact and a book of nature photographs titled, “An Eye for Beauty,” which was featured on “The Today Show” and is endorsed by Elizabeth Hurley and Evelyn Lauder. My favorite item is the lip-gloss compact for $15. Not only is the gloss clear with a hint of transparent sparkles, it looks good on everyone.
