Tribute band Fab Four focus on future

By Kristen Force

suspectBeatles tribute band The Fab Four had an opportunity to talk about favorite venues and aspiring hopes after the group performed Sunday at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center.

After the show, the band members also answered questions about the experiences of the band and their future plans.

Paul McCartney is played by Ardy Sarraf, John Lennon is portrayed by Ron McNeil, George Harrison is performed by Michael George Amador and Ringo Starr is played by Rolo Sandoval.

Q: What are the future plans for the band?

A: Ron - “None. No really we plan to take our show to Vegas. We’re going to be at the Las Vegas Hilton for 16 weeks total. We’re real excited about that because we’re taking our act to another level. It’s going to more of an act than a band.”

Q: What do you think you would be doing if you weren’t in this band?

A: Michael - “Sweeping the floor, washing dishes…”

Ron - “I’d like to think I would still be involved with music. The Beatles were obviously a big influence on us and it just happened to turn out this way that we are using our influences to make a living.”

Michael - “It has always been a weekend hobby for me and then it turned into a full-time job.”

Ardy - “I think Michael would be a janitor and Ron would be in a Monkey’s tribute band. Really, I think all of us would still be involved in music. Once it’s in you, it’s in you and you’ve caught the bug.”

Q: What is the craziest or strangest thing someone from the audience has done during a show?

A: Michael - “Throw their panties on stage!”

Ron - “Hey, that’s not crazy. We actually encourage that, just kidding. People dress up in Sgt. Pepper’s suits or in something very ’60s. We had a girl and a guy come out as members of the Addams Family. We have some really crazy fans, but they are very nice people.”

Ardy - “A few have come up on stage to try to hug and kiss us. Not that I push them away or anything.”

Q: What do you think makes The Beatles so popular now, especially with kids who don’t even realize that you are pretending to be someone else?

A: Ron - “I wish we were really them, then we’d be making more money! We’re actually too young to remember The Beatles also but we got into it because of the music, it’s such great music. The younger generations will always pick up on The Beatles because it’s the greatest music of all time and it’s timeless.”

Michael - “It’s really good song writing. It’s plain and simple; if you have a good song and a good voice, you’re going to have good music. The Beatles were the most charming people in the business in their time.”

Q: Is there anything The Beatles did that you would still like to do?

A: Ron - “Shay’s Stadium would be nice. We’ve played the Hollywood Bowl and we wouldn’t mind playing there again. We haven’t been to England or anywhere in Europe yet.”
