Essential products for a fall look are in

Janelle L. Burns - Fashionably Tuesday

Requests from my editors and prompts from readers made it clear that you’d like to read about fashion and beauty. Since the two compliment each other, I dug up the latest, greatest, best-selling and most lust-worthy beauty items you didn’t know you can’t live without.

Classic glamour is the palette for fall beauty. This includes dramatic lips, popping lashes and a simple, fresh face. Red is the it color for lips. If you’ve never gone red— now has never been a better time to try.

My first stop was MAC, where makeup artist Katherine Tassio introduced me to the newest “Lux Delux” collection. The treasure from this collection is the new “Lac Lusture” lip-gloss for $16, it goes on glossy then transforms to a matte finish. Tassio credits that it’s comfortable and long-lasting. She suggests “Old Flame,” a deep ruby red.

At Chanel, the “Glossimer” lip collection for $24 provides a very wet-looking shiny gloss. This collection isn’t new, but it carries different intensities of reds. For dark red, try “Jelly.” “Pulsar” gives a true red and “Spark” is a clear red, best used when layered over another color.

To make the sexiest lashes, I swear by Origins “Underwear for Lashes” for $12. With this lash builder applied under mascara, lashes instantly look longer. Mascaras to try includes Origins “Fringe Benefits” for $12, and Lancôme “Definicils” high definition mascara for $20.

At the most superlative beauty boutique ever, aka Sephora, I received insider information on their best-sellers and must haves. Aide Rocha with Sephora said a best-seller is the Shu Uemura eyelash curler for $15. With a silicone base, the curler is soft and safe for lashes, leaving behind a natural curl.

Domingo De Montejo with Sephora, showed me the best of the best in skin care. To get a fresh face, you have to start with the skin first. The most fabulous mask is “Sugar Face Polish” by Fresh for $55. The sugar exfoliates while the acids in the mask work to eliminate dead skin cells. He also raved about Caudalie. Based in Paris, Caudalie uses the byproducts from wine production and turns it into the best skin food ever. Products range from soap to anti-aging creams.

Lastly, don’t forget about perfume! Rocha reports that Sephora’s hottest seller is “Glow” by J Lo. My pick is “Chance” by Chanel. Check them out and have fun finding your fall face.
