The
California State University system is seeking legislation
that would allow the CSU to offer an education doctorate,
once only offered by the University of California system.

A
push to end outdoor cigarette smoking is underway at Cal
State Long Beach. Although indoor smoking was banned on
campus in 1989, a new surge to make CSULB 100 percent
smoke-free is on the list of campus concerns.

The
Memorial Day weekend typically signifies the unofficial
beginning of summer for many. But as schools begin to
let out and the heat goes up, so does crime in the City
of Long Beach.

take out asbestos
Cal
State Long Beach is repairing buildings throughout the
summer session, leading the way for several routine asbestos
checks to ensure students and faculty are safe from the
dangerous fiber that can cause Mesothelioma, a cancer
of the cells that make up the lining around the outside
of the lungs and inside of the ribs, or around the abdominal
organs.

Graduation
has come and gone and graduates with outstanding student
loans only have six months before the interest goes up
and the required payments begin.

Confused
Cal State Long Beach students who logged onto the Career
Development Center's JOBTRAK, found the link to the site
sent them directly to monsterTRAK as of June 6. Monster.com,
which purchased JOBTRAK last November, launched its job
listing and resume service called monsterTRAK last week.
- Resident's
hall cracks down on no drinking policy
Students
next semester can expect stricter procedures for students
caught drinking in the dorms as the Cal State Long Beach
resident halls crack down on the no alcohol policy.
