Long Beach's roads may become limited this month as the university's
"Repair/Re-Stripe Roads-Campus Wide 2001" project
comes into effect.
The project, being
coordinated through CSULB's Construction Management department,
will be working primarily on re-painting the stripes on, and
replacing the pavement for those roads on campus that have
become worn-down over time.
The project began
Saturday, Aug. 4, on East Campus Drive, where work was done
to re-stripe the pavement. According to a memo issued by the
CSULB Construction Management department, the work will continue
until August 19.
On Monday, Aug.
13, road construction will be limited to the installation
of a new traffic detector loop at the Bellflower Boulevard
entrance to State University Drive. The road is to remain
open during construction, which will be done during regular
working hours.
Roadwork to remove
traffic striping markers at West Campus Drive and South Campus
Drive will be done Friday, Aug. 17. Roads will remain open,
but will be narrowed to one lane.
On Saturday, Aug.
18, complete traffic striping/marker removal and re-installation
work at West Campus Drive and South Campus Drive will cause
the road to be narrowed to one lane.
More re-striping
and marker installation work will be done on Sunday, Aug.
19 at State University Drive, West Campus Drive and South
Campus Drive. Work is scheduled during normal working hours
and roads will be narrowed to one lane.
