Crime Log

The following incidents were reported by the University Police between Monday, July 23 and Wednesday, August 1.

Theft

  • A suspect took a wallet containing $30 at the Performing Arts Center between 4:15 p.m. and10:50 p.m. Saturday, July 28.

  • A six-foot tall, 180 pound male suspect took a wallet from another student near the escalator by the Student Union between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27. The suspect bumped into the victim, was courteous, and then excused himself. Then victim noticed his wallet missing.

  • A suspect  took a wallet and contents valued at $45 along with $250 cash from a backpack in the bookstore between 2 p.m. and 2:27 p.m. on Thursday, July 27.

  • A suspect took a wallet containing $40 cash from the Parkside Commons vending machines after it was left unattended between midnight on Friday, July 28 and 4 a.m. Saturday, July 29.

  • A suspect took a stereo valued at $280 from a tan '93 Honda Accord parked in Lot 12 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25.

  • A suspect took a "Giant" 10 speed, black with red trim, and a "Specialized" bicycle, light blue with a spring seat, together valued at $420 from front of Frogs Gym on Tuesday, between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. on July 24. Husband and wife had locked them together with a cable lock.

  • A suspect took a laptop computer and four DVD movies valued at $1820 from Room 231 in Residence Commons, Building E between noon and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24. The door was locked but there was no sign of forced entry.

  • A suspect took a PlayStation consul and six DVD movies valued at $570 from Room 219 in Residence Commons, Building E between 10 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24. No sign of forced entry.
Incidents
 
  • Two male suspects attempted to buy a pack of cigarettes and gum from the convenience store near the Psychology Building with a counterfeit $100 bill on Monday, July 23.

  • One suspect was 5 feet 8 inches tall with tight black cornrows, light blues shirt and carried a backpack. Second suspect was six feet tall, with muscular build, shaved head, light blue shirt and carried a backpack. Counterfeit currency is in police custody.

  • A man tripped and fell, hitting his nose and lip near the Residence Dining Hall at 7:17 a.m. on Monday, July 23. He was transported to Community Hospital in Long Beach.
