during last week’s 2001 Commencement ceremonies.

Confused
Cal State Long Beach students who logged onto the Career
Development Center's JOBTRAK, found the link to the site
sent them directly to monsterTRAK as of June 6. Monster.com,
which purchased JOBTRAK last November, launched its job
listing and resume service called monsterTRAK last week.

hall cracks down on no drinking policy
Students
next semester can expect stricter procedures for students
caught drinking in the dorms as the Cal State Long Beach
resident halls crack down on the no alcohol policy.

from across the United States gathered at Cal State Long
Beach at the K-16 Partnerships and Student Success conference
with the hope of uniting high schools, community colleges
and universities.

problems cause bookstore to close
The
University Bookstore, as well as other Forty Niner Shops,
was closed Monday morning due to a computer system failure.

Vietnam era veterans at Cal State Long Beach have been
trying for eight years to get the university to uphold
a federal law that was created in 1974.

Assembly
Bill 4, written by Assembly members Patricia C. Bates
(R-Laguna Niguel) and Dennis Cardoza (D-Merced) took
one step closer to becoming a California state law Tuesday
when it was approved by the California Senate Public
Safety Committee.

California Commission on Teacher Credentialing recently
awarded Cal State Long Beach professor Erin Gruwell
and four other teachers for their dedication to students.
