hit a two-run homer and Patricia Espinosa doubled to bring
Jaclyn Fredrickson in for a run, but was unable to take the
lead. The game ended in an 11-7 loss.

No. 4 ranked Cal later that evening who held them in a 3-0
shut out. Pitcher Jocelyn Forest allowed only two hits and
struck out 16 players.
The 49ers came
back strong on Day 2, defeating Portland State 2-1 in the
morning and Minnesota 3-1 that night. Nasrawi struck out three
batters and allowed only five hits in the morning game against
Portland.
Game 2 against
Minnesota opened with the 49ers scoring two runs in the first
inning. One was off Jamie Farnworth's RBI and the other off
a fielder's choice by Smith. Lindsey Knoff pitched a complete
game and allowed only four hits and one run.

the tournament ended in a split for LBSU, with a win over
New Mexico and a loss to San Jose State. Erin Tucker earned
a RBI in the fifth inning against New Mexico for the 1-0 win
in the afternoon. Immediately following, the 49ers fell to
San Jose State in a 1-0 shut out.
