    While airports have begun allowing limited flights after the Sept. 11 hijackings and terrorist attacks, they are operating under highly intensified safety precautions.|

    In light of Tuesday's terrorist attacks on the East Coast and the bomb scare at Cal State Long Beach, the efficiency of campus-wide evacuation procedures has become the primary focal point of university safety issues.

    The cost to cancel classes Tuesday was minimal to the California State University system since many classes met before the Chancellor's Office made the announcement at 10:30 a.m.

    Amidst the chaos, the Long Beach Film Festival continued with its opening night last Friday. Before it began, everyone took a moment of silence and prayer, followed by voluntary donations to the American Red Cross.
