scares plague campus, Long Beach
The
Long Beach Police Department responded to numerous bomb
threats Tuesday following terrorist attacks on the World
Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington,
D.C.
- Suspicious
package leads to evacuation
A
suspicious box in the back of a car parked in Lot 3 next
to Brotman Hall prompted University Police to evacuate
the building Tuesday and call in the bomb squad of the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

stay open
While
the rest of campus was closed, the dorms at Cal State
Long Beach remained open to residents and continued to
function in as normal a manner possible Tuesday, given
the disastrous events of the morning.

evacuates in wake of attacks
As
everyone nationwide collectively watched the television
in utter disbelief of the apparent terrorist attacks that
ravaged the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon,
Cal State Long Beach officials simply would not take chances
on the safety of students yesterday, according to Toni
Beron, CSULB vice president of public affairs.

calls town meeting
Amid
a sea of panic and shock over the "Day of Terror,"
Associated Students Inc. President Wayne Stickney-Smith
called an emergency town hall meeting Tuesday at 10 a.m.
to talk about what could be done to calm the situation.
