Men's basketball
opens its home schedule with a non-conference game against
Charlotte (1-1) Saturday at The Pyramid. Game time is 1:05
p.m.
The 49ers went 2-1 at the America's Youth Classic last weekend.
Senior Rudy Williams averaged 16.0 points and 5.3 rebounds
during the three games and was named to the all-tournament
team.
Guard Jobey Thomas leads Charlotte in scoring at 15.5 points
per game and Demon Brown averages 13.5 ppg.
Women's basketball travels to Fairbanks, Ala. to take part
in the Mt. McKinley North Star Invitational Friday and Saturday.
The Beach opens with Western Illinois on Friday at 7 p.m.
and will play either Eastern Illinois or Alaska-Fairbanks
Saturday.
Newcomer Jinga Gosschalk led the Beach (0-1) with 20 points
during its season-opening loss to Syracuse.
Men's water polo plays in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation
Championships Friday through Sunday in Berkeley.
LBSU (12-6) opens against Pepperdine in the first round on
Friday at 11:00 am.
Chris Segesman leads the 49ers in scoring with 36 goals, including
28 in his last 10 games, and has 164 career goals.
The top-ranked women's volleyball team hosts the Thanksgiving
Classic Friday and Saturday at The Pyramid. The Beach plays
Weber State Friday at 2:00 p.m. and Pittsburgh Friday at 7:30
p.m. The 49ers close the tournament against Brigham Young
Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
