Beach concludes
fall tennis season

Beach women's tennis
concluded its fall schedule over the weekend at the ITA Fall
Regional Tournament hosted by the University of San Diego.
Sophomore Alena
Dvornikova advanced to the round of 16, but was defeated by
Sara Walker of UCLA, 6-3, 6-1. Dvornikova beat Debbie Larocque
of Arizona, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the first round and Katalina
Romero of San Diego State, 6-4, 6-1, in the second round.
LBSU's Lindsey
Marvel advanced to the consolation semifinal before losing
to Gyorgyi Zsiros of UNLV, 6-0, 6-0. Marvel teamed with Laura
Thomas to reach the round of 16 in the doubles competition
before losing in the quarterfinals.
The 49er tennis
squad will be start team play Feb. 1 against USD. The Beach
will also play an exhibition match involving LBSU alumni Jan.
