top Beach finishers at Club Grove
Men's golf:
Juniors close with strong rounds to help 49ers finish ninth
at Saticoy Country Club.

The Long Beach
State men's golf squad finished in a tie for ninth place at
The Club Glove Intercollegiate completed Tuesday at Saticoy
Country Club in Somis.
Beach junior Robert Sul shot a eight-over-par 224 and finished
tied for 16th place overall, while teammate Nick Seymour,
also a junior, shot 225 and finished tied for 21st for the
49ers.
Sul shot a two-under 70 and Seymour a 72 to close their rounds
on Tuesday.
Other 49er finishers included Tyler Mays, who shot a 231with
a low round of 74 in the first round Monday to finish in a
tie for 41st, and Torey Edwards, who finished in a tie for
57th with a 239.
Pepperdine, which hosted the competition, took the team title
by 17 strokes over second-place Fresno State. The Waves' Jason
Allred took medalist honors, shooting an even-par 216 for
the tournament.
LBSU's next action will be Oct. 15-16 at the Countrywide Home
Loans Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge.
