Polo evens record
Staff reports
Long Beach State
men's water polo made the most of a late-scheduled game, routing
host Cal Baptist, 13-6, in a nonconference game Saturday in
Riverside.
The 49ers (2-2,
1-2 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) broke an early
2-2 tie on a goal from Scott Miller at the 3:31 mark of the

They blew the game
open when Max Aguilar, David Del Grande and Erik Geoffroy
scored goals just over a minute apart late in the quarter
to give LBSU a 6-2 lead it would not relinquish.
Miller finished
with three goals and Aguilar and Nathan Allard added two goals
each as nine different 49ers scored. Beach keeper Michael
Konstas made nine saves.
Goran Milic scored
three goals and Matt Berry added two for Cal Baptist (15-3).
The game was scheduled
to in order to make up for early Beach contests canceled earlier
this season.
LBSU's next action
will be Oct. 13-14 in the NorCal tournament at Stanford University.
The 49ers will take on MSPF rival Pacific in its first game
of the tournament Saturday at 12 p.m.
