Full weekend for
LBSU

A full slate of
competition is on tap for Long Beach State athletics this
weekend.
The cross country team hosts the Long Beach Invitational Saturday
at El Dorado Park East in Long Beach. The men's race is scheduled
for 9 a.m. with the women's race beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Men's water polo travels to Riverside to take on Cal Baptist
Saturday. The game was added to the 49ers schedule earlier
this week and will be the team's first nonconference game.
LBSU is 1-2 on the season.
The undefeated women's volleyball squad, the top-ranked team
in the country, hits the road for two Big West Conference
matches. The Beach (9-0 overall, 3-0 Big West Conference)
plays 12th-ranked Pacific (12-2, 3-0 BWC) for the conference
lead on Thursday and takes on Cal State Northridge (8-4, 2-2
BWC) on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m.
Women's soccer opens Big West play with two games at home
this weekend. The 49ers (1-5-1) begin conference play against
Utah State Friday at 1 p.m. and close the weekend with a 3
p.m. contest Sunday versus Idaho. Both games will be played
at George Allen Field.
