Long Beach State's
women's soccer, men's water polo and women's volleyball all
hold home-venue advantage this weekend.
The water polo squad takes on Pacific in a Mountain Pacific
Sports Federation match Friday. Match time is 4 p.m. at The
49er Campus Pool.
The Beach will look to improve on a 0-2 overall and MPSF record.
Pacific enters with a record of 1-2, 0-2 in the MPSF.
Aaron Holloway leads the 49ers in scoring with three goals.
The 49er soccer team will look to rebound after a tough road
trip last weekend that dropped its record to 1-4-1. LBSU will
play Pepperdine in a 1 p.m. nonconference game Sunday at George
Allen Field.
Freshman Kristin Travis leads the 49ers with three goals.
Women's volleyball hopes to stay on a roll when it takes on
UC Riverside in a Big West Conference matchup at The Pyramid
Friday at 7:30 p.m. The undefeated 49ers (8-0 overall, 2-0
in the Big West) are coming off a huge victory over No. 4
Stanford Tuesday.
Second-ranked LBSU is led by senior middle blockers Tayyiba
Haneef and Cheryl Weaver, who have each garnered Big West
Player of the Week honors this season.
