The Long Beach
State women's basketball team, which lost two of its top assistants
over the summer, has come back to fill one of the vacant spots.
Angela Head, who
held a post in the United States Department of the Treasury,
will leave the organization to become an assistant coach for
the 49ers, the Long Beach Sports Information department announced.
Head, who was a
college teammate of LBSU Head Coach Dallas Bolla at Stetson
University will join holdover Tuonisia Turner as the top assistant
coaches on Bolla's staff.
LBSU lost former
Associate Head Coach Rosa Stokes and assistant Miranda Serna
during the summer. Stokes left to become head coach at Georgia
Southwestern State University, while Serna left to become
the top assistant coach at Chicago State.
Head has coached
basketball at various levels and served as a mentor and personal
trainer for high school and collegiate basketball players
in the Washington D.C-area.
Current Beach player
Jennifer Baker is one of the players Head has helped mentor.
Head received her
B.A. in liberal arts from Stetson University and an M.B.A
from the University of Connecticut. She has also completed
the International Management Program at the University Limburg-Maastricht
in The Netherlands.
Head served as
a financial analyst for the Treasury Department and served
on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
