Treasury's loss The Beach's gain

Staff reports

The Long Beach State women's basketball team, which lost two of its top assistants over the summer, has come back to fill one of the vacant spots.

Angela Head, who held a post in the United States Department of the Treasury, will leave the organization to become an assistant coach for the 49ers, the Long Beach Sports Information department announced.

Head, who was a college teammate of LBSU Head Coach Dallas Bolla at Stetson University will join holdover Tuonisia Turner as the top assistant coaches on Bolla's staff.

LBSU lost former Associate Head Coach Rosa Stokes and assistant Miranda Serna during the summer. Stokes left to become head coach at Georgia Southwestern State University, while Serna left to become the top assistant coach at Chicago State.

Head has coached basketball at various levels and served as a mentor and personal trainer for high school and collegiate basketball players in the Washington D.C-area.

Current Beach player Jennifer Baker is one of the players Head has helped mentor.

Head received her B.A. in liberal arts from Stetson University and an M.B.A from the University of Connecticut. She has also completed the International Management Program at the University Limburg-Maastricht in The Netherlands.

Head served as a financial analyst for the Treasury Department and served on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
