What to do after finals: Just get away

Finals are coming next week and everyone wants to do well, but what happens after final exams? That's what everyone is really thinking about.

I want to suggest a few things to do after finishing those dreaded finals. One thing to do is get out of town.  Get out of Long Beach, and take a little road trip. Use the time to get re-acquainted with friends, and clear your mind of the "drama" that you went through during this semester.

Another thing to do is visit a place that you've never been to before. For example, if you have never been to Las Vegas, then make the arrangements and just go.  Or, if you haven't been to Big Bear, just gas up your car and get going.

Just make sure that you do something fun that you want to do. Don't spend time worrying about how you did in your classes; you will have all of January to worry about that.

If you don't have any money in your budget, then I suggest you do something that will never cost money. Sleep, sleep, sleep. I know everyone has lost so much sleep during this semester and you should use your winter break to make up for it all. This is something I will definitely be doing.

The most important thing this winter is to take out some time for you. Before you start worrying about what the people around you are doing, just take a few moments to reflect on what you want to do, what your goals are, who you want in your life and who you want to get out of your life.

Once again, I want to say thank you to everyone who supported me with this column.  I wish you all the best, study hard, and after all is said and done relax, relax, relax.
