That darn greedy Red Cross

My parents have recently told me that the American Red Cross has decided to just do whatever they want with the money they collected for the families of the Sept. 11 tragedies, and I was appalled. I didn't believe it until I heard it on the news the following day.

How dare they collect all that money, and not give it to those families? I believe they collected over $500 million. That is just too much for you to just suddenly change your plans. This just proves that people are all about themselves and morals have just gone down the drain.

Many of the families left behind have nothing because their loved ones were their sole source of income. Many people were counting on this money to get through this tragic time. Nothing is worse than losing a loved one, then having bill collectors hounding over late bills.

I am so glad that I didn't donate money to any of these organizations.  Actually, I never donate money to organizations because I don't trust them. Instead, I give money to needy people I know directly or if I have a friend who knows about a needy person or family then I can help them indirectly.

I could be wrong about this situation. Maybe the Red Cross will give the money to victims.  Maybe that's what they mean when they say they will do whatever they want with the money.

It came to my attention that maybe the Red Cross doesn't know how to distribute the money fairly and equally. But, that's problem, and not the problem of the American people.  The Red Cross has been around for too long to not know how to distribute donated funds.

If they don't know how to distribute donated funds by now, then maybe it doesn't need to be in business anymore.
